What brought you to TXST? What led you to become a Bobcat employee?

I loved every second of my time as a student at Texas State. I had such positive experiences with staff and faculty, and the sense of community really shaped me as a person. Because TXST had such a big impact on my life, working here felt like a natural way to give back and stay connected to a place that means so much to me.

Can you describe your current role?

I currently serve as the regional manager for the Austin area in Admissions. I support recruitment efforts throughout Austin, primarily working with Austin Community College students as a Bats to Cats liaison and helping students navigate the transfer process. I also manage a team of admissions counselors who focus on recruiting at local high schools.

What is the most fulfilling aspect of your job and why?

The most fulfilling part of my job is helping students accomplish their goals. Transfer students are often feeling lost, confused, or discouraged, and being able to help them understand the transfer process, create a plan, and follow through to success is incredibly rewarding. Watching students gain confidence and ultimately reach their goals makes the work meaningful every day.

Why is TXST a unique place to be as a student or employee?

I truly believe Texas State has something special, whether you’re a student or an employee. It’s a tight-knit community where people genuinely pour into and support one another, and that’s a huge reason I chose to stay after graduating. Seeing the growth and excitement surrounding TXST right now makes being part of the Bobcat community even more special.
