I have been a full‑time staff member for 6 years, and I have been employed at Texas State for a total of 12 years, including my time as a student and part‑time staff member.
What makes working at Texas State meaningful for you?
I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas State. I worked as a resident assistant and fell in love with the university, which inspired me to pursue a career helping students. Being able to make a student’s day easier — or even just make them smile — is incredibly meaningful to me.
What’s one project or event you love being a part of?
I work at the Round Rock Campus, and my favorite annual event is the Campus Cookout. I love seeing engagement on our campus, and I’m proud to support the mission of growing our campus community. It’s a fun and special event that brings everyone together.
What accomplishment at Texas State has meant the most to you?
Helping grow the Round Rock Campus has been the most meaningful accomplishment for me. I’m grateful to be part of the team responsible for the campus’s expansion. We’ve increased student enrollment and are offering more courses than ever before.
What inspires you when you come to work each day?
It truly comes down to the students. No matter the role I’ve been in — from financial aid to administration — I always return to the same question: How can we make their college experience better? Their success is what inspires me each day.
