TXST partners with the city of San Marcos to celebrate 60 years of scientific excellence.

In March 2026, San Marcos Mayor Jane Hughson declared a week of celebrations in honor of TXST’s College of Science & Engineering 60th anniversary. The week-long celebration ended with “Community Day,” a day filled with lab tours, science demonstrations, and info sessions open to the San Marcos community.

Robotics and Rovers

Family members of all ages enjoyed STEM-related exhibits and showcases such as “Robotics for Fire/Cattle,” where curious attendees were able to learn how TXST’s High Performance Engineering (HiPE) research group is using drones and rovers to support farmers and firefighters in the real world.
